I have been gone for a while, and for a few reasons. Exams, final projects and extracurricular have recently taken over my life, leaving no time to sit done and just write.
But make no mistake, I am back for now and hopefully will be able to post my daily thoughts and writing more often.
2016 has been….. an interesting year to say the least. From bottle flipping to an election, many things happened.
Some may argue that the year has been one of the worst in their lifetime.
To shift away from all that negativity, I would like to make my last blog post of 2016 a list of things that make you happy. Items, animals, people or events that bring joy into our lives, or maybe an everyday action or occurrence. I hope this list makes you smile, and that you end your 2016 on a happy note.
- Rainy days
- The weekend (the days not the singer!!!)
- Warm blankets
- Hot chocolate, tea or coffee
- Oversized sweaters and shirts
- Old and cherished books
- Calligraphy (who doesn’t love beautiful handwriting?)
- A hug
- Being able to sleep in
- Reflecting on old happy memories
- Feeling the wind in your face
- Anything fluffy
- Stretching your limbs after you have staying in one spot for awhile, or after you wake up
- Find new and good music
- A good hair day
- Paint mixing videos
- When your phone is 100% charged
- A perfectly symmetric photo
- The perfect winged eyeliner, on both eyes
- Seeing your friends happy
- Reading a good book
Surround yourself with things that make you happy in 2017, and have a happy new year.
If you’ve recently visited any store, mall or school classroom you know that the holiday time is here, and so is the “Christmas Cheer”.
That being said, it will be a quite hectic few weeks leading up to and after the special day. Most people are hung up on things from their family members coming to visit to the food to what they are going to give their friends and loved ones.
Here is a piece of advice: time.
If you are one of those people worrying about the best Christmas gift then that is your solution. Why spend hours finding the perfect gift, when you can spend hours having a perfect time with the person you clearly care a lot about? Memories are priceless, and will be treasured much more than something that you can use twice or wear seldom.
Spend time with that family, with your friends and loved ones and make your holidays memorable, as you only have so much time to give.

Colouring has now become popular with adults, as recent studies have shown that colouring actually helps with stress.
Now while that has been proven to be true, in my opinion painting is better when it comes to relieving stress.
Many adult colouring books have beautiful but very intricate designs, and if you’re anything like me colouring inside the lines isn’t really your thing. For me, it is actually quite stressful to have to carefully shade a specific space, and if I mess up, I am most likely feel more frustrated.
Painting isn’t like that (in my case). I find that through abstract art, I can paint my feelings and emotions and there aren’t any rules or lines that I have to be aware of and follow. I can be free to do my own thing, and the result is still something beautiful.
So which do you find better at relieving stress and overall, colouring or painting?
Woah. It has been a year.
On September 7th of 2015, I started this blog. And now I am here, a year later. Time has flown by, at least through my eyes.
