Lately I have taken many photos, and I just recently updated my image gallery here on my blog!
If you like photography I suggest you check that page out, but for this post I have decided to share some of my favourite photos with you, new and old.
My most recent favourite is this image, of an old camera I bought last summer. It is so bright and simple, and I associate many happy memories with it.
An image I am quite proud of would be this one. Last summer, I decided to take a photo of my fence in my backyard, focused and unfocused. I then fused the two photos together to create this effect which I was quite happy with.
Honestly, I am not entirely sure if I was the one who took this photo of The Louvre (or if it was one of my parents). Aside from that, it definitely is one of my favourite photos. This photo was taken in 2011 during a family trip to France, and it is one of my favourites because 1) what a beautiful colour scheme and 2) the trip was amazing, so was the museum. If you cannot tell, I would love to go back to France and Europe in general.
This image was taken on July 1st, not long before the Canada Day fireworks started. I took many photos that day but this one always stood out because of the colours (and of course the bokeh).
Do you ever have those moments when you feel like you can’t express yourself?
That one time where your emotions could not be captured, where your feelings were just too much to be anything?
On our phones we have two options. Normal text like this, the equivalent to normal talking and tone. We also have THIS. THIS IS THE EQUIVALENT TO SHOUTING, but it sometimes is not enough. Sometimes your thoughts cannot be portrayed in a standardized font and sometimes your words cannot be conveyed by capitalized letters.
Human emotions simply cannot be contained by what’s on these boxes in our hands, and they sometimes cannot even be contained in ourselves. We are not all one level or the other. Everyone expresses themselves differently, in different ways and to a different degree.
Sometimes we just need to cry, wail, hug someone or jump up and down.
Last time I checked, you couldn’t accurately do that by typing a text message.
(Or here is a suggestion: Apple, you could just make a new font and size!)
I have been gone for a while, and for a few reasons. Exams, final projects and extracurricular have recently taken over my life, leaving no time to sit done and just write.
But make no mistake, I am back for now and hopefully will be able to post my daily thoughts and writing more often.
2016 has been….. an interesting year to say the least. From bottle flipping to an election, many things happened.
Some may argue that the year has been one of the worst in their lifetime.
To shift away from all that negativity, I would like to make my last blog post of 2016 a list of things that make you happy. Items, animals, people or events that bring joy into our lives, or maybe an everyday action or occurrence. I hope this list makes you smile, and that you end your 2016 on a happy note.
- Rainy days
- The weekend (the days not the singer!!!)
- Warm blankets
- Hot chocolate, tea or coffee
- Oversized sweaters and shirts
- Old and cherished books
- Calligraphy (who doesn’t love beautiful handwriting?)
- A hug
- Being able to sleep in
- Reflecting on old happy memories
- Feeling the wind in your face
- Anything fluffy
- Stretching your limbs after you have staying in one spot for awhile, or after you wake up
- Find new and good music
- A good hair day
- Paint mixing videos
- When your phone is 100% charged
- A perfectly symmetric photo
- The perfect winged eyeliner, on both eyes
- Seeing your friends happy
- Reading a good book
Surround yourself with things that make you happy in 2017, and have a happy new year.
If you’ve recently visited any store, mall or school classroom you know that the holiday time is here, and so is the “Christmas Cheer”.
That being said, it will be a quite hectic few weeks leading up to and after the special day. Most people are hung up on things from their family members coming to visit to the food to what they are going to give their friends and loved ones.
Here is a piece of advice: time.
If you are one of those people worrying about the best Christmas gift then that is your solution. Why spend hours finding the perfect gift, when you can spend hours having a perfect time with the person you clearly care a lot about? Memories are priceless, and will be treasured much more than something that you can use twice or wear seldom.
Spend time with that family, with your friends and loved ones and make your holidays memorable, as you only have so much time to give.
A while back, I made a post about music, my music choices and listed a few songs you should check out. Well I am back with a list again with new songs for you to enjoy (hopefully as much as I do).
