I have been pretty busy lately due to projects and assignments from class as 2017 is coming close to an end. The break is sorely needed at this point in the school year and thankfully only one week away!

Last weekend I decided to film while I was attempting to study and work on assignments which resulted in the video below.

A Day Downtown

A few weeks ago I had a great day in my city’s downtown area with one of my friends. We visited an museum, went around a university campus and took some pretty great photos. Below is a video I put together of clips to the song “Diamond Rings” by Tennis, enjoy!

Switching Things Up

Today I uploaded a new video on my YouTube channel, “Switching Stuff Up”. It is a little video of me changing a few things in my room that I thought you guys may enjoy, but that is not all this post is about.

Lately I have been bursting with ideas to share with family, friends and the world so I am going to be making some changes. I want to try and upload videos more frequently, and post on my blog weekly.

This change will hopefully benefit me by giving myself a consistent outlet for what I love doing and everyone who takes time out of their day to read or simply appreciate what I create.

Goodbye Summer

It is now September which means one thing: Fall is almost here.
Because of that, I decided to create a video that includes some highlights of my summer. Since I was quite busy for the past two months I did not have much time to write any posts, so I hope you enjoy the video as well as my next few entries which will be coming soon!

Song used: Honolulu by Last Dinosaurs

A few weeks ago my family and I went to Canada’s lively capital, Ottawa, for three days. We spent most of those days wandering around ByWard Market, going around to the different stores, stalls and restaurants. I also had a chance to see the tulips planted in the city for Canada’s 150th anniversary, unfortunately before they had bloomed. After some shopping at the CF Rideau Centre and IKEA, it was time to get home. On the trip I took many short videos which I decided to edit, putting the final product to music.

What Does Confidence Mean to YOU?

Hello Media.

The definition of confidence is “a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities.”

But what does the word mean to YOU?

My class was tasked with a project, to spread a positive message using social media.

I chose to spread confidence, as I feel that it is something everyone should have, in moderation of course.

I have always loved to speak in front of large crowds, give presentations in class, feeling absolutely fine with all eyes on me. Yet, many kids are not. So I decided to spread this feeling of self assurance and love so that other children can also speak up, share their thoughts and stand out.

Instead of using one platform to share my message, I decided to incorporate Instagram, Youtube and my blog. Wanting to maximize my audience and the amount of people I can reach , I decided that would be the best combination.

After thinking up many ideas, I set out  to collect people’s definitions of the word, of “confidence”. What is more personal than thoughts and a definition right from someone’s head? I wanted to find out what it means to them, what it means to be confident and to have confidence. That way, it would mean more than just a generic quote or a standard definition.

As a start, I created my Instagram account, @confidenceig, which if you have noticed has a rainbow and sky theme. I used this account to spread quotes about confidence, taken from places like Pinterest but all of the photos were taken and edited by me.

On my main account @sunsh1nx I posted a photo (which is now deleted) of my definition and I asked people to comment their versions below.

Many of my classmates also had texted me their definitions, and I have included a few.

After gathering and processing all of the above, I created my final product, the video below.

I hope you enjoy it and that it inspires you to have confidence in yourself, in others and to spread this wonderful message 🙂
