The future can be a little scary. Scratch that, it is scary. Growing up, moving out.

It’s a big deal.

This year, I have to start thinking about careers, about what I want to do and what I want to be in life. Is it bad that I have no plans yet?

Some people have it all planned out, a coloured coded map they just need to follow. I wish I had that map guiding me, helping me.

At this point, I do not know what I want to pursue. Language, the Arts, Business, Medicine and more are choices, and whatever choice I choose will stick with me for the long run.

The thing is, I am not going to choose yet.

While reading Paper Towns, I came across this wonderful part-

“Every moment of your life is lived for the future–you go to high school so you can go to college so you can get a good job so you can get a nice house so you can afford to send your kids to college so they can get a good job so they can get a nice house so they can afford to send their kids to college.”
― John GreenPaper Towns

After reading that, I decided something. I told myself that I was not going to just live for the future, I am going to live for the present too. I still have time to decide, lots of time to figure my life out.

Each day is special, and once it is gone it will never come back.
